What is included in the arrangement for transporting the deceased person?

1. Preparation of appropriate documentation which must accompany a dead body as required by the state.

Please note that the general price list is applicable and referred to the service “Transporting the deceased person”. As agreed upon with the customer and when transportation of the human remains is to be arranged, the price list can be adjusted and corrected.

OPTIONS FOR TRANSPORTING THE DECEASED

Ritual Lux Company offers three options of repatriation of the remains of a deceased person – by specialized vehicles, train or air. Each transporting option has its own nuances, advantages and disadvantages. Please, find below the brief information about every available variant.

1. Air transport of deceased persons. There is no better way than air transport to get the body as early as possible. Transporting the dead body via air is the quickest and easiest means. This option can be used if the time of delivery should be reduced or if you must transport coffin with a body at a great distance and there is no auto route. The disadvantage of the option is high cost which is determined how airlines set prices.
2. Important! In accordance with sanitary regulations, airlines will only accept mortal remains in zinc container. If a dead body is transported abroad, it is required to get a permission from Consulate or Embassy closest to the place of death. If a coffin with a body is shipped by train the zinc insert is used. When one carries a dead body through train transport, the body is carried in the luggage or post van attached to the train. The other advantages of body transportation by means of rail/ train are well-developed infrastructure of railroad and affordable prices.
3. Transportation of a body by the specialized vehicles. There are no requirements to use zinc container if dead body is transported by vehicle. The selection of the vehicle depends on the distance. It is better to use air conditioned vehicle or cars equipped with refrigerators. The advantages to use vehicle for human remains transportation are mobility and low-priced service.

MEETING AND TRANSFER OF THE DECEASED PERSON

It frequently occurs that people die overseas, too far from their native country. In this case the human remains will be shipped by air. The transfer of the dead body from foreign to native state by air is complicated process for the grieving family. They have to be ready to:

• collect the body at the airport;
• obtain custom clearance certificate;
• transport the mortal remains and preserve it from decomposing;
• open of a soldered zinc coffin and recycle it.

The most difficult and challenging task for the families is how to make a transit arrangement when transporting the deceased person. Oftentimes there is not direct flight from place where person dies to the destination city or it is not possible to collect a full set of documents to ship body to the other country. For example, the shipping container with the deceased is transit through Moscow and it is necessity to obtain documents in the Consulate of the other country.

So there is a multi-step process. Transit-transfer passengers have to collect a body at the airport, transport it to mortuary for preserving, visit the Consulate office, collect and fill out all required documents, transport body from mortuary to the airport cargo terminal, custom clear cargo and ship the deceased by air or road to the native country. It is quite clear that to do everything without assistance of hard-working, seasoned and highly-skilled professionals is not easy.
